What does it involve?
Biofibre hair threads are made from a biocompatible polyamide that mimics the structure and diameter of human hair. Each thread is individually implanted into the dermis layer of the scalp. No donor zone is needed: Biofibre is the only available hair transplant option for patients without a usable donor zone. Results are immediately visible after treatment. Annual maintenance (replacement of shed threads) is required to maintain density.
How the treatment unfolds
Anaesthesia and preparation
The treatment zone is locally anaesthetised. The scalp is prepared with marking of the areas to be treated and hairline design.
Thread implantation
Each Biofibre thread is individually implanted via a fine needle. Between 200 and 600 threads are placed per session, depending on the zone.
Immediate result
After the session, the result is immediately visible. There is no waiting period for hair growth as with biological transplantation.
Recovery and maintenance
5 to 7 days of recovery. First washing and aftercare follows the doctor's instructions. Annual maintenance is necessary to maintain density.
